Funny Business Agency Returns To Book Gilda's LaughFest
Family-owned and national comedy booking agency Funny Business Agency worked behind the scenes to select and secure major talent for the 2nd annual Gilda's LaughFest from March 8 - 18, 2012 in Grand Rapids, MI.
John and Jamison Yoder worked daily checking availability, negotiating terms, and securing contracts with talent for the Best of The Midwest, Clean Comedy and Stand-up Comedy Competitions, as well as celebrity acts like Kevin Nealon, Martin Short, Rodney Carrington, Mike Epps, Jim Gaffigan, Marc Maron, and the rest of the festival's talent.
“As the nation’s only community-wide festival of laughter, we are glad to be working with a local agency to book artists for Gilda’s LaughFest,” said Leann Arkema, CEO Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids. “Funny Business has done a great job bringing top named talent to LaughFest.”
Funny Business Agency, who also books the Dr. Grins Comedy Club inside The B.O.B., was tapped early to help find and secure comedians for the first LaughFest. After a successful 1st year of the festival, Funny Business again came aboard to help build the festival's second year.
Funny Business Agency, started 25 years ago by owner John Yoder in Grand Rapids, MI has evolved into one of the largest comedy booking and entertainment agencies in the country.
In the last 10 years, John's sons have also come aboard one-by-one to bring their own unique talents to the business. Jamison Yoder, who is the main booking agent for Dr. Grins Comedy Club, was also the main point-man in working with Gilda's LaughFest.
