Corporate Comedian Cash Levy gives insight to his career as a Comedian:

I've been a stand up comedian for over fifteen years now. My career has taken me to over fifty different countries. I've performed for the troops and been on many different TV shows.

One of the most satisfying things about my job has been the corporate and private shows. There is something so special about walking into a room of people, some of whom have never been to a comedy show before, and making them laugh.

As I begin the performance, I can sometimes spot a few people who don't really want to be there. To have those same people approach me after the show and say, "You really had me, I had no idea that would be so much fun!" That makes it all worthwhile.

At a Comedy Club, you don't know who you are performing for on any given night. In a corporate setting, I have a distinct advantage in knowing what the common ground will be for the group. I enjoy getting inside information from a client, and then customizing my show to that particular group. Sometimes during these shows,  I'll see people looking at each other as if to say, "That was hilarious, how did he know that?!"   
 
My show is very improvisational. I think people get a sense that what I'm doing is unique to that particular evening and group.  I wanted to be the type of comic that could adjust to different situations, travel around the world, and still have my show work. That wouldn't have happened if I was just doing a connect-the-dots show.

There are just so many situations where you have to think on your feet!

This style seems especially useful in the corporate/private show setting, as you don't want someone who is too rigid in their presentation. I've done shows in boardrooms with no microphone, in the thoroughfare at trade shows, and at someone's dinner table for eight people.

Some setups are more conducive for comedy than others, but the one thing I've learned is that if you're versatile enough, and able to make adjustments on the fly, you can make people laugh in the most difficult situations.
